Casa Rica
Owners Mac and Sharon lived in Bali for nearly four years and they fell in love with the architecture and the easy, graceful hospitality of the Balinese. On a recent return trip to the island the couple had a small, traditional wooden house designed in the rich, ornate Balinese style. This hand-crafted structure was built on the island of Bali, then disassembled and shipped in pieces to Ojochal, Costa Rica where Mac and a team of local workers re-assembled this authentic gem surrounded by the flora and fauna that reminds Mac and Sharon of their time in Bali.

The king size bed has a pillow top mattress, the bathroom features an impressive stone sink and the kitchen is fully equipped. Casa Rica also features a refreshing private plunge pool surrounded by a wooden deck that invites lounging. Just steps away is your own Balinese-style gazebo furnished with plump pillows. From your porch, the mountain and garden views are stunning and ever-changing. Look for blue morpho butterflies with their distinctive electric blue wings.

The view from the spacious screened-in porch of Casa Bambu is of large Guanacaste trees and impossibly green mountains. Vibrant heliconia and ginger flowers punctuate the scene and it’s not uncommon to see groups of toucans passing through in flashes of feathery color. The casa’s namesake bamboo grows gloriously, providing both shade and beauty. Casa Bambu is petite, breezy and well-appointed with a queen size pillow top mattress, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. A private outdoor soaker pool makes your Casa Bambu bliss complete.

Nestled in the jungle right beside the seasonal creek (flows between May to January), our Treehouse is the perfect short-term rustic accommodation for true nature lovers. The sounds of wildlife will greet you early each morning with the babbling creek below and rustling leaves above. Suitable for 1 to 2 people who want to get away from city living and reconnect with the outdoors, you will appreciate being enveloped in nature while also enjoying the luxuries of our screened-in hot water shower at the end of a long day of exploration. The bottom platform offers you the opportunity to lounge in the hammock or do yoga while the creekside balcony above has comfortable seating for contemplating life. Around 5pm you'll smell the lovely perfume of the ylang ylang trees nearby that some people say is like Chanel N°5.

Casa Sendero is closest to a lovely trail (sendero in Spanish) which allows guest to wander past stands of bamboo, vibrant tropical flowers and a lovely stream. It is a comfortable and intimate hideaway for two guests and is equipped with a bathroom, kitchen, a screened-in porch that’s perfect for lazy, breezy relaxation.

Casa Sendero is on Bali Rica Casita’s five acre gated property which is full of tropical plants where hummingbirds and toucans play. The Bali Rica property also includes a communal sitting area, a yoga pavilion with weekly classes and an on-site spa. The scent of ylang ylang will perfume your stay and the bountiful fruit trees mean a seasonal supply of bananas, starfruit, coconuts, mango, citrus and more.
