Playa Ventanas

Just five minutes drive from Bali Rica is Ventanas Beach, one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches and home to unique natural gaps or windows (ventanas in Spanish) in the rocky cliff which dramatically drain during low tide then fill again as the tide comes rushing in.

Dominical

The popular surfer's beach in Dominical is approximately 30 minute drive away.

Playa Tortuga

This is the closest beach to Bali Rica within 25 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes drive. it's the least touristy and is a long and wide open expanse that's always changing and being sculpted by the tide.

Ballena National Marine Park

Was designated as a protected marine area by the Costa Rican government in 1990. This haven for migrating humpback whales, olive ridley and hawksbill turtles, dolphins and other marine species is just a 15 minute drive up the coastal highway from Bali Rica. The centrepiece of the park is a unique split called Punta Uvita which resembles a whales tail from the air. Visitors can stroll the beach at low tide.

Manuel Antonio National Park

One of the most famous and popular parks in Costa Rica, offers hiking trails and one of the most beautiful bays in the country, perfect for cooling off after your hike. Sightings of white face capuchin monkeys and sloths are virtually guaranteed. Migrating whales pass by as well in season.
